SDA saxes are built with bigger bore compared to Selmer Mark VI so although it has the famous French core sound but it is slightly broader and definitely fatter sounding than Mark VI. In fact I haven't heard any warm and rich yet well defined core sound like this in any sax (including my instructor's 130xxx Selmer Mark VI) but unfortunately due to development of arthritis in my fingers, I need to find one with a super light key action and a bit more Selmer Mark VI like ergonomics.Īs you may know, SDA saxophones have one of the highest values for the money in the market.
